Hi fellow quilters,
The new Quiltmania Special Spring 2014 magazine has just arrived at newsstands. It’s a lovely issue containing 13 projects varying in size from pillows to runners to quilts.
I’m thrilled to share that a version of my Ribbon Rings design (QM128) is included in this issue. The quilt was pieced by my friends Pam Matthews and Cindy Luby, and quilted by Cindy. They used fabrics from the Charleston Farmhouse collection designed by Felicity Miller for Free Spirit Fabrics. Beautiful job ladies! Thank you for making such a lovely version of Ribbon Rings! And thank you Carol & Christelle at Quiltmania for selecting the quilt to include in your lovely magazine!
Pam is selling kits for the quilt with the same fabrics as shown in the magazine on her website at Del Ray Fabrics.
I love how the setting for the magazine version differs from the four layouts shown on my Ribbon Rings (QM128) pattern cover & back. The pattern cover shows the “rings” and “garden” layouts which I pieced using Galaxy Java batiks.
The pattern back shows this “Tic Tac Toe” layout pieced by my friend Karen Ytzen using a light and dark strip pack of Anthology batiks,
and this scrappy “garden” layout version made by my friend Katie Rubatt with fat quarters of a Moda 3 Sisters collection.
The quilt is made from just one simple block rotated to achieve the different layout options. You can use yardage, fat quarters, or pre-cut 2-1/2″ strips. The pattern includes six sizes: topper, runner, small throw, large throw, twin & queen.
Until next time, enjoy all your quilt moments!

Congratulations on having your pattern used and published! It is so exciting to me to see how you can make one block and produce so many different looks! I like the tic-tac-toe the best because it is whimical! 🙂 Thank you for sharing!!
